Isoprene Production
The employees of SPS EUROCHIM developed and implemented a modern technology for isoprene production based on liquid-phase catalytic synthesis from isobutylene and formaldehyde.
The liquid-phase isoprene synthesis process developed by SPS EUROCHIM was successfully implemented at PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim (Tatarstan, Russia) in 2006. Current capacity of isoprene production is equal to 300 thousand tons per year.
The technological process allows to prepare isoprene of high (monomeric) purity, which is suitable for the manufacture of synthetic rubbers and elastomers.
The main advantages of the technology are:
- high efficiency;
- low consumption of raw materials;
- low power consumption;
- environmental safety.
This technology was awarded the Russian Federation Government Award, three gold and one silver medals, diplomas and certificates; it was also recognized and given many Grand Prix at all-Russian and International exhibitions and competitions.
